Part 2: Making the Animation Cells
Software Used: CorelXARA 2
Back to Part 1: Making the CD
1.) Drag a marquee around the entire CD from Part 1, then hold the shift key down and click on the topmost rainbow-colored fill to deselect it. From the Arrange menu choose Group.
2.) Select everything again, duplicate it, drag it over to the side, and resize the duplicate to about 2 inches. Duplicate the smaller CD two more times so you have a total of 3 smaller CDs.
3.)
On the second copy, select the topmost rainbow-filled shape,
change the angle of rotation to 120.
On the third copy, change the angle of rotation to 240.
4.) Drag a marquee around the first smaller CD, right click on it and choose create bitmap copy. Leave the default settings as they are and click Create A to make the bitmap copy. Repeat for the second and third copies.
5.)
Now bring up the bitmap gallery
by clicking its button or using the F11 key on the keyboard.
6.)
In the bitmap gallery, hold down the shift key and select the
three CD bitmaps. Then click Save in the top of the bitmap gallery.
Set the type to animated GIF and give your GIF a filename. Don't make any changes in the export options, just click export.
7.) If you'd like to see your animation, open the animated GIF file, then go to the Utilities menu, and choose Preview All Frames.
My animated GIF weighed in at 25kb I used Ulead SmartSaver Pro to reduce the file size to 18kb with a 16 color dithered palette.
