Animated Robo Dancer - Page 4
Paint Shop Pro Tutorial by Arizona Kate

(If you arrived on this page from a search, you should begin the tutorial from page one.)

STEP 4.... NOW LET'S ANIMATE THIS GUY!

Save your multi-layered file in .psp format with ALL LAYERS VISIBLE. Important! Every LAYER that is visible will become an animation FRAME in Animation Shop. If layer is not visible in PSP....it won't appear in your animation!

Open Animation Shop and open your saved Robo Dancer file. FILE > JASC PRODUCTS > LAUNCH ANIMATION SHOP

The default display time is a little too fast for our dancer. To edit, select all frames. EDIT > SELECT ALL Change display time for this animation to 20. ANIMATION > FRAME PROPERTIES > enter 20 in box.

preview animationPreview your animation...use the VIEW button show here or select from menu. VIEW > ANIMATION

Whoa! The message frames are still flying by too fast! To slow them down we need to change the display time for just those frames. Close preview.

If Animation Shop is only displaying 1 frame of your image, grab the right edge with your cursor and drag to the right until you can see multiple frames. Select just the frame or frames that contain your message. To select more than one frame at a time, hold down the Shift key as you select.

Repeat the above step to change display time, but this time change it to 200 for the message frames.
ANIMATION > FRAME PROPERTIES > enter 200 in box

Preview animation again and adjust display time for any other frames you feel are moving too fast or too slow! Larger number is slower, smaller is faster!

How does your Robo Funk dancer look...is he doing good? Better save now before he tires out!
