PageMaker

PageMaker is a page layout application that was originally published by Aldus. It was later acquired by Adobe Systems. In 1999, Adobe released a new professional publishing application called InDesign. With the introduction of Adobe InDesign, PageMaker was repurposed for the business consumer rather than the professional publishing and design market it was once intended for. In January 2004, Adobe officially discontinued development of PageMaker at version 7 and released the PageMaker Plug-in Pack for Adobe InDesign CS to help PageMaker users make the transition to InDesign. You can find more resources for both PageMaker and InDesign on About.com's Desktop Publishing and Graphic Design sites.
