FreeHand

FreeHand is a professional vector illustration application that was originally published by Aldus. It was later acquired by Adobe Systems, but divested in July of 1994. For many years it had been published, developed, and supported by Macromedia until Adobe's acquisition of Macromedia in 2005. The last version of FreeHand was FreeHand MX, developed while still under Macromedia's ownership. In May of 2007 Adobe announced that Freehand development would be discontinued. A Frequently Asked Questions document was released to explain details of the decision and offer resources for FreeHand users who wish to migrate to Adobe Illustrator. See the related links below for more Freehand resources on this site.
