"I cannot figure out how to properly resize a large scanned image so it will fit entirely inside a typical browser window. The image I scanned is 8x10 in Paint Shop Pro and will print entirely on one page, but when viewed in MSIE it will appear enormous."

Introduction > Photo-Paint Prep > Batch Processing

Photo-Paint allows you to batch process a series of images using scripts so you don't have to perform the same tasks repeatedly. Before you use the Batch Process command, you'll need to record the commands you want to perform in a script file. These script files can be assigned to toolbar buttons, given keyboard shortcuts, and shared with other Photo-Paint users.

Recorder DockerTo record a script in Photo-Paint, you'll need to display the Recorder Docker by going to Windows -> Dockers -> Recorder. The Recorder Docker is shown to the right. To start recording, click the red button on the bottom of the docker. Now every action you perform in Photo-Paint is being recorded and will be displayed in the script area of the docker. When you finish the commands you want to record, click the black square stop button on the docker. Finally, click the disk button at the top of the docker to save your script to a file. Now your scripts can be accessed through the batch command and through the Scripts Docker. Consult the Photo-Paint help file if you'd like to add a script to a menu or toolbar or assign a shortcut key to the script.

To use your script to process a series of images, you use the Batch Process command under the File menu. When you choose the Batch Process command, you'll see the dialog box shown below:

In the top section of the dialog you click add file to select the files you want to process. You can select several files at a time from many different locations. In the next section, click Add Script to choose one or more scripts to run on each file. In the Options section you can choose to save the images to a new folder, to another format, to save over the original file (not recommended), or not to save. When you choose to save to a new folder, you can click the Browse button to choose the folder where the processed images will be saved. You can also choose to have Photo-Paint close the files after they are processed. Now just click Play and sit back and watch while Photo-Paint does all the work for you!

Next learn how you can easily embellish your images to make them more memorable.
