XFader can transform any BMP, JPEG, or GIF image into a seamless texture that can be used for backgrounds, desktop wallpaper, texture fills, bump maps, and more. X-fading converts photos and graphics to seamless patterns by fading the edges or mirroring the image. By using the static area option, you can specific the area of the image that will remain unchanged. A number of effects filters are also available including blur, motion, wave 2D, wave 3D, relief, and bump. The latest version allows you to generate textures from scratch using the texture generator feature to create custom clouds, skin, marble, and wood textures. Unlimited textures are possible with functions for controlling color, transparency, relief, merge mode, and more. A randomize button allows you to experiment with various random effects. improvements, that make it even easier to create and modify
seamless images, such as enhanced color and gradient controls,
better JPEG saving...
- One new filter and a decoration tool was included, which allows you to add beautiful stars or water drops to your image - seamless of course.
- Many impressive textures are made by several single ones, now you can "merge images" more easy.
- If you use XFader to create backgrounds for your website, you need images with high contrast to to text on your site. Now XFader can display some "demo text" to make color adjustment easy.
- You can "fade" the last effect now (making it more transparent).
- You can set default directories now if you want to store all (or many) of your images or gradients to a special directory.
- XFader used to add a "X" to the filename by default, now you can change this.
- You can set the JPG compression/quality now.
- More zoom factors are available (even smaller than 100%), the current factor is show in the status bar.
- The filename is also shown in the status bar.
- Some ways to adjust colors you might need often, were put directly to the menu.
