PDF Presentations
This feature is available from the Automate menu in the File Browser or from File > Automate in Photoshop CS. It generates a multi-page PDF or a PDF slide show containing any number of images.
With the multi-page document option, a PDF is generated with one image per page. With the Presentation option, a PDF is generated which automatically opens full screen and advances each page like a slide show. With this option you are able to set the slide display time, slide transition effect, and choose whether you want the slide show to repeat or end after the last page.
Both options allow you to choose a compression setting. The ZIP compression method is lossless and works best on images with large areas of solid color. The JPEG option works best for photos and allows you to adjust the settings for the best compromise between image quality and file size.
Several other PDF options are offered, including Security options for password protection and restricted access to the content of the file. Refer to Photoshop's help file for more on these other PDF options.
When the recipient views your PDF presentation in Adobe Reader 6, they will be able to extract the images, print them, and/or order prints online (unless you used the security options to protect the file).
Web Gallery with Feedback
This feature is available from the Automate menu in the File Browser or from File > Automate in Photoshop CS. It generates a complete Web site photo gallery of your images with thumbnail index pages and hyperlinks to larger versions of each photo. This is nothing new to Photoshop, but Photoshop CS offers several new Web Gallery templates that allow you to get feedback via email, and include titles, descriptions, credits, and copyright information for each image.
The new Web Gallery templates feature updated designs and the "feedback" templates include a form for viewers to add feedback for each image and email the feedback to you right from the Web.
As before, users with HTML knowledge can customize and create thier own Web Photo Gallery templates.
Online Services: Shutterfly
This feature is available from the Automate menu in the File Browser or from File > Online Services in Photoshop CS. Currently, only Shutterfly services are offered, but presumably more services will be added as Adobe forms partnerships with other online photo services. Any new services will be added automatically if you check the "Automatically refresh" button from the Online Services Wizard dialog.
With Shutterfly online services, you can upload your images to Shutterfly. Once your images are sent to Shutterfly, they are placed in Web albums and you can choose which images you want to make public for your friends and family to browse. All photos sent to Shutterfly will be eligible for ordering prints, photo cards, and gifts through the Shutterfly service. When you sign up for a new (free) account with Shuttefly, you get 15 free 4x6 prints.
