Wouldn't we all like to look a few years younger or magically erase facial blemishes? Luckily we can turn back the clock digitally with Corel Photo-Paint's Lens Effect.
Difficulty: Average
Time Required: 10 minutes

Here's How:

  1. Open the image.
  2. Select New Lens from the Object Docker or go to Object > Create > New Lens.
  3. Choose Smooth from the new lens dialog and click OK.
  4. Adjust the percentage of smoothing so that it conceals all the flaws in your image. It's ok to go high here because you can adjust the effect of the lens in the next steps. Your image will now appear slightly blurred.
  5. Select the Fill tool, set the fill color to Black, and click in the image. This completely hides the lens and brings the original image into view.
  6. Select the Paint tool and set the paint color to white.
  7. Use a small soft brush to paint out any blemishes, freckles, wrinkles, or scars. You're actually revealing the smooth effect when you paint on the lens object with white.
  8. See the tips below to refine your touch-ups.
  9. When you're happy with the results, choose Combine > All objects with background. Remember, there is no going back after this point.

Tips:

  1. Take care not to paint over any areas of fine detail or sharp contrast.
  2. Vary the transparency of the paint and softness of the brush for finer detail.
  3. If you accidentally paint over an area, paint over it with black to reveal more of the untouched image. Remember, white reveals the lens effect and black hides it.
  4. Experiment with the other lenses for different types of touch ups.
