Old-Fashioned Sepia Tinted Image

A sepia tone is a reddish brown monochrome tint. When applied to a photo, it gives the picture a warm, antique feeling. It's easy to do in PhotoImpact!
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 5 minutes

Here's How:

  1. Open a photo in PhotoImpact.
  2. If the image is in color, go to Format > Hue & Saturation and drag the saturation slider all the way to the left (-100). Then click OK and skip to step 4.
  3. If the image is in grayscale, go to Format > Data Type > RGB True Color. A new image will open and you can close the original.
  4. Go to Format > Color Balance and click the Preset tab.
  5. Set the Thumbnail Variation slider to 15.
  6. Click once on the third thumbnail on the top row.
  7. Click once on the third thumbnail on the middle row.
  8. Click OK.

Tips:

  1. Save the Color Balance settings to the Easy Palette for future use by clicking the Add... button in the Color Balance dialog after adjusting the settings.
  2. Experiment with other variations in the Color Balance dialog to apply other color tints to your photos.
