A sepia tone is a reddish brown monochrome tint. When applied to a photo, it gives the picture a warm, antique feeling. It's easy to do in PhotoImpact!

Time Required: 5 minutes
Here's How:
- Open a photo in PhotoImpact.
- If the image is in color, go to Format > Hue & Saturation and drag the saturation slider all the way to the left (-100). Then click OK and skip to step 4.
- If the image is in grayscale, go to Format > Data Type > RGB True Color. A new image will open and you can close the original.
- Go to Format > Color Balance and click the Preset tab.
- Set the Thumbnail Variation slider to 15.
- Click once on the third thumbnail on the top row.
- Click once on the third thumbnail on the middle row.
- Click OK.
Tips:
- Save the Color Balance settings to the Easy Palette for future use by clicking the Add... button in the Color Balance dialog after adjusting the settings.
- Experiment with other variations in the Color Balance dialog to apply other color tints to your photos.
