If you're sending any photos to a printing service for the Holidays, be sure to crop them to the proper aspect ratio before sending them off if you don't want any unpleasant surprises. My article, Aspect Ratio and Cropping to the Proper Print Proportions, explains what this is and why it is important. My sister once got burned by this on some holiday photo gifts she was having printed--don't let the same thing happen to you!

I cropped some photos to a 4×6 aspect ratio and took them to a department store kiosk. I thought I would be good to go when having them printed to a 4×6 size, but there was still some clipping. I wonder if I should have done something different. There were two kiosk brands, maybe I’ll try the other and see my results.
Nice
Thank You,

If I really care about a photo, even at 4×6, I’ll add a border.
Most processing machines crop about 3%.
Infuriating!!
