New Corel Digital Studio 2010

Wednesday September 2, 2009
Most of you probably know someone who takes a lot of pictures and videos, but rarely does anything with them once they come off the camera--if they even make it that far. That's the type of point and shooter Corel had in mind when they created Digital Studio 2010, a suite of four all-new products designed to make it easier for family photographers do more with their photos and video clips.

Corel Digital Studio consists of:

  • Corel PaintShop Photo Express
  • Corel VideoStudio Express
  • Corel DVD Factory
  • Corel WinDVD
  • Corel Instant Viewer
  • Digital Studio Gadget
Although these are separate applications, they share the same media organizer and work fairly seamlessly together to help you organize, improve, backup, and share family memories online and in creative projects.

The Corel Digital Studio provides a simplified path for creating personalized movies, slide shows, photo-books, calendars, collages, and greeting cards. It allows you to easily share your photos, videos and creations online through email, YouTube, Facebook, and Flickr, and to take them with you on your iPod, iPhone, mobile phone, or other mobile device.

I've only had a few hours to work with the new Digital Studio, and I'm mostly impressed with the video editing simplicity compared to other entry-level video editing software I have used in the past. I'll have a full review when I've had some time to explore the software more thoroughly.

Pricing and Availability
Corel Digital Studio 2010 is now available globally in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch and Chinese Traditional as an electronic software download (ESD). In the US and Canada, the product is available at the suggested retail price (SRP) of $99.99. Corel Digital Studio 2010 will also be available at leading retailers around the world starting in mid-September 2009. For more information, to purchase an ESD or download a free, fully featured 30-day trial, please visit www.corel.com/digitalstudio.

The individual photo and video components of Corel Digital Studio 2010 can also be purchased as standalone products. Corel PaintShop Photo Express 2010 is available for $49.99 SRP and Corel VideoStudio Express 2010 for $49.99 SRP.
