Graphics Challenge: Something From Nothing

By , About.com GuideJanuary 18, 2009

Follow me on:

This week's graphics challenge theme is Something From Nothing. The idea is to start with a blank canvas and create a scene or image using only the tools native to your program. Experiment a little with gradients and brushes or shapes. Explore some of your tools and filters. You might find a new technique or style!

The Rules of the Game:
Use your imagination to create an image based on this theme using any graphics software you like, then post your completed image in the discussion forum and please tell us a little bit about what software and techniques you used. This is a great way to experiment and learn from each other.

All levels of users are welcome to participate. You can submit as many versions based on the theme as you like. Remember to try and keep your image sizes to 800x600 pixels or less, and 100kb or less.

If you're not sure how to post images as attachments on the forum, see these instructions. If you have an image or theme idea for a future graphics challenge, please suggest them using the comments link below.
