In my Web travels, I often see questions like this: "I need to print a photo as an 8x10 but I'm having trouble resizing it without it becoming distorted. How can I resize it without the distortion?" This happens because digital cameras produce files with an aspect ratio of 4:3, but many common photo print sizes have a different aspect ratio. Good advice as always. The article says to crop to the aspect ratio to avoid clipping from a print service, this may not hold true for department store kiosks.
I never before had used one, so I thought I would be smart and crop my photos to a 4×6 ratio first. This kiosk didn’t have options for cropping, etc, only print size options. Needless to say they got clipped anyway.
There is another photo brand name kiosk that I haven’t tried, so this problem may be only with the brand I used. Just something to be aware of. Thanks.
Not a comment but a question, which if any of these free downloads is compatible with Windows Vista?
@Edith, ask in the forum and try to be specific about which downloads you mean. The more info you can give, eg.-name of software you use,version, name of download, etc -the better answer you will get.
this tip is really informative and i suggest photoshop which has good solutioin as we have choice in setting the aspect ratio.
