Today Corel announced Painter Essentials 4 art software for home users. Painter Essentials lets users work with a variety of digital paint brushes, pens, pencils, markers, crayons, and paper textures, to create digital art and paintings from scratch or from digital photos.

Notable new features and improvements in Painter Essentials 4 include:

  • A redesigned workspace - The workspace has been divided into two distinct areas--one for painting and drawing from scratch, and one for photo-painting. The toolbox has also been reconfigured to make brush selection easier.
  • A new brush drawer has been introduced for browsing brushes.
  • New Color and Mixer palettes makes it easier to choose and combine colors.
  • The Photo Painting System is enhanced and organized into its own workspace and the automatic Smart Stroke technology created photo paintings that are more natural.
  • The RealBristle Painting system introduced in Painter X is now available in Painter Essentials 4.
  • Painter Essentials 4 now has Pens, including a Scratchboard Tool and Smooth Edge Calligraphy pen.
  • More paper textures.
  • A Guidebook with step-by-step tutorials.
  • Video tutorial by John Derry.
  • Increased undo levels up to 32.
  • Integrated Online Print Services enabling users to order prints of their artwork on canvas, watercolor paper or other fine art materials
Painter Essentials 4 is available today for Windows and Macintosh. A 30-day trial download is also available. Visit the Corel Painter Essentials 4 Home Page for more information.
