Adobe Photoshop CS3 & Bridge CS3 Public Beta

Thursday December 14, 2006
Update 12/15 2:50 PM EST: The Adobe Photoshop CS3 Beta page is now live on Adobe Labs.

Ready, set... start your download managers! Adobe has officially announced that a public beta download of Photoshop CS3 and Bridge CS3 will be made available sometime in the wee hours (PST) of December 15 on Adobe Labs. According to Adobe's press release:

The beta is available as a Universal Binary for the Macintosh platform, as well as for Microsoft Windows XP and Windows Vista computers. The final shipping release of Adobe Photoshop CS3 is planned for Spring 2007.
The beta is available in English only, and in order to use it for more than two days, you will need a valid serial number for one of the following applications: Adobe Photoshop CS2, Adobe Creative Suite 2, Adobe Creative Suite Production Studio, Adobe Design Bundle, Adobe Web Bundle, or Adobe Video Bundle.

I might just stay up late to download this. I'm excited to try Photoshop on my shiny new MacBook Pro!

Update: Here's a noteworthy piece of information I found in the official FAQ (linked below):

Adobe will not offer upgrade pricing more than three versions back on Photoshop CS3.
Historically, Adobe has always offered discounted upgrade pricing on the current version for anyone with a valid license for any prior version of Photoshop. With the release of Photoshop CS3, users of Photoshop 6.0 and lower will no longer be eligible for upgrade pricing.
