Corel Snapfire Free Digital Camera Software

Tuesday September 5, 2006
Today Corel Corporation announced Corel Snapfire and Corel Snapfire Plus digital camera software for Windows. Corel Snapfire is a free download offering easy-to-use tools for organizing, enahancing, and sharing digital photos and video clips.

With Snapfire, users can edit photos with one-step quick fix, red-eye remover, rotate, crop, and color effect tools. Photos can be shared in printed layouts as album pages, cards, calendars, collages, certificates, and magazine covers. Users can also email Snapfire Shows, photo slide shows which combine digital photos, video clips, and music with transitions and motion effects. Another unique aspect of Snapfire is the Photo Doctor, a feature which analyzes digital photos, and provides a hint when a photo could benefit from a quick fix enhancement.

User seeking more power can upgrade to Snapfire Plus for a suggested retail price of US$39.99. Snapfire Plus includes all the features of Snapfire, along with more advanced features such as Makeover Tools, Picture Tubes, frames and edges, extra project templates, straightening, resizing, text tools, disc burning, and photo backup. Snapfire Plus also offers more advanced video editing, more elaborate transitions and effects for Snapfire Shows, plus the ability to save Snapfire Shows as standard video files.

Snapfire Plus is built on a modular platform, allowing user's to add new features they want by purchasing add-on components. The first modular component will allow users to save Snapfire Shows to a DVD and play them back back in a television DVD player. The DVD Authoring module will be available in the fourth quarter of 2006 at US$9.99 SRP.
