Fun Freeware Find: Desktop Graffitist for Windows

Sunday July 23, 2006
Have you ever wanted to scribble graffiti on your computer desktop? If so, this small freeware program might be just what you're looking for! If not, give it a try anyway... everyone could use a little more fun in their lives!
Desktop Graffitist is a small program that enables you to spray paint your desktop, and anything else that might appear on screen. DG is designed for recreation and creativity, and can be used to relieve office stress. [Desktop Graffitist Web Site]
It may sound like it's just for fun, but I do see some potential usefulness here. In the forum recently, there have been a couple questions from folks who are interested in using a graphics tablet to do markup on top of another program such as for live demos, presentations, and training sessions. Desktop Graffitist could certainly serve this purpose. It's a bit simple and unrefined at the moment, but the author is requesting suggestions for improvement. I'd like to see support for pressure sensitivity when using a graphics tablet, and better variety and control over line width, but other than that I think it's best kept small and simple. Download Desktop Graffitist and start scribbling!
