Looking for a Powerful Slide Show Program

Neeh writes: "I'm putting together a very large slideshow that will loop continuously in a lobby. This show is expected to consist of over 100,000 photos as a minimum. I was wondering if anyone knows of a program that can handle such a large bulk of photos without becoming unstable, and that can add captions easily."
