Product Activation in Adobe Creative Suite 2

Tuesday April 5, 2005
The recently announced Adobe Creative Suite 2 now requires activation for all CS2 applications on both Windows and Macintosh operating systems. Although an overwhelming majority claimed they would not upgrade to Photoshop CS due to product activation, I've found the activation process in Photoshop CS to be pretty painless. In CS2, Adobe has improved the activation process, and reactivation is no longer required after backing up or restoring your system. Adobe's activation allows you to use the software on up to two machines, per the license agreement. Adobe's improved activation process also includes a function for transferring activation in the event of a system upgrade. If you're not familiar with product activation, take some time to learn more about what it is and how it can affect you as a consumer.
