Jasc Updates Paint Shop Pro

Wednesday August 4, 2004
Not only is there a new update patch for Paint Shop Pro 8, but Paint Shop Pro 9 has entered the public beta stage. Jasc is offering two beta versions of Paint Shop Pro 9 for you to download and test before they are officially released.

Paint Shop Pro 9 offers more power and new advanced tools, while Paint Shop Pro Studio is an easier to use version of the program with fewer advanced tools. And if you buy Paint Shop Pro 8 now, you will get a free update to Paint Shop Pro 9 when it comes out. Some of the new features include paint-style brush tips, a color mixing palette, noise and chromatic aberration removal filters, support for RAW camera images, and improved drawing tools.

The Paint Shop Pro 8.10 update provides several feature enhancements, fixes, and performance improvements. A complete list of the changes can be found in the release notes (PDF - 93KB).

From a Jasc Press Release:
Jasc Software, Inc. announced today the launch of the public preview of Paint Shop Pro 9, the latest version of its award-winning photo and graphics editor. In addition, Jasc announced the launch of the public preview of Paint Shop Pro Studio, a new photo editor aimed at consumers who want to do more than novice editing without a steep learning curve.

Results from Jasc market research clearly defined a trend towards two significant groups of users. The other half wanted a Paint Shop Pro that was more fun and easier to use, making photo-editing projects a reality for everybody.
