Shutterfly Photo Printing Experience
Friday February 6, 2004
I've never used an online photo printing service before, but back when I reviewed Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0, I signed up for a Shutterfly account and got 15 free 4x6 prints. Last week, they had a 20% off sale on large format prints so I decided to get a couple of 11x14 prints of some of my photo art and use my 15 free prints.
The prints arrived today and I must say I am very pleased. I expected the 4x6s to be fine (and they are), but wasn't so sure how the photo art would turn out since they were altered photos and fairly low resolution. These were created using PhotoArtMaster Gold and were only about 1000x800 pixels in size. I used Extensis pxl SmartScale to increase the size and resolution to 11 by 14 inches at 180 ppi and they came out wonderfully! What a great feeling to have your own art work or photography on display in your home! And not a bad price either--the final total for two 11x14 prints was about $15.
Shutterfly always seems to have some promotion going on. They are currently offering 20% off Valentine Cards (ends today) and 15% off any order of $10 or more through February 11, 2004. They get a thumbs up from me.
