Max Lyons Breaks the Gigapixel Barrier
Sunday December 7, 2003
This has been making the rounds lately. Max Lyons' image of Bryce Point in Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah was stitched together from 196 separate photos taken with a 6 megapixel digital camera, quite possibly making it the first documented gigapixel digital image. Visit Breaking the Gigapixel Barrier to learn all the technical details and how it was done, then pop over to Max Lyons' Digital Image Gallery for more stitched and blended composite images. And I thought my 11-image Photoshop CS Photomerge was impressive!
