Freeware Find: Oscar's Multi-Monitor Taskbar

Wednesday November 19, 2003
If you have a dual monitor or triple monitor setup under Windows 2000 or XP, you may want to give Oscar's Multi-Monitor TaskBar a try. This free tool adds a second taskbar to the extended desktop on a second monitor and can add a third taskbar if you have three monitors. Each taskbar only shows the applications from that monitor. It also adds a Move to Monitor button on all your application windows and includes a text clipboard extender to help you quickly retrieve any text you have recently copied. It's completely free - no nag screens, ads, or spyware.

I downloaded the above software and installed in the laptop and desktop, both recent HP Pavilion models. But after installation and reboot the desktop says no additional monitor found. What do I still need to do?

It’s only useful if you have 2 or more monitors connected to the same computer. If you are trying to make the laptop display an extra screen for the desktop or vice-versa, then you need something like MaxiVista - http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/productreviews/gr/maxivista.htm - or another software KVM.
