I like what PhotoDude has to say about digital photo storage:
For the most part, storage mediums are generational, meant to last a lifetime. Best case, a hundred years. And all you can do today is maintain those items by the best standards currently available. It will be up to the next generation to convert them to the next storage medium, and like it or not, they will decide what is worth preserving. You won't be here.Discussion: If CDs don't last, what do you use?
